Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years commercial general contracting estimating experience in the Phoenix metropolitan area
- Needs to have solid relationships and be respected with the subcontracting community
- Needs to be able to provide accurate conceptual budgets that all parties can rely upon
- Needs to be able to review documents and identify discrepancies in order to seek out answers prior to bidding a project
- Need to be able to provide alternate material and building ideas
- Must be able to attend presentation meetings and communicate well with our customers to be able to explain how a given estimate was derived
Job Requirements:
- Full time position
- Predominately in office but will require site visits, pre-bid meetings and presentation meetings
- Must be willing and able to travel occasionally for some of our out of town work
- Must have knowledge of and be able to take on Project Management responsibilities occasionally
- Required to be active in an industry organization
- Required to be proficient with Microsoft Excel and a working knowledge of Procore is a plus

Commercial Construction Project Superintendent
COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT
Sigma Contracting is currently looking for additional commercial construction project superintendents to oversee, plan and ensure the coordination and safety of construction projects. Sigma is a highly respected Arizona based regional commercial general contractor started in 1983, licensed in nine southwestern states and offering a full benefits package. This is an opportunity to join an established firm with close ownership involvement and an average core staff tenure of twenty-plus years. The successful candidate will have at least four years of commercial construction experience as a project superintendent which could include: new build, renovation work and tenant improvement projects. We are currently looking to find individuals with experience in industrial, medical, multi-family, office and/or retail commercial. This person will oversee and report on the daily management of projects, reporting directly to Project Management. The successful candidate must be comfortable interfacing with a team in a fast paced, dynamic, and challenging position/environment. This is a full-time position on location at a project site. The main office is located in the Scottsdale Airpark north of West World at Frank Lloyd Wright and Hwy 101. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring that both health and safety protocols are followed
- Being on site daily to oversee the project construction activities
- Ensuring that both material and wage budgets and schedules are maintained and followed
- Organizing the daily subcontractor workforce for performance as required and safety
- Liaise with government inspectors regarding licensing, safety and conformance with standards
- Ensure that quality of work and materials is maintained throughout the project
- Ensure that a clean site is maintained
- Write and maintain complete, timely and accurate project status reports with photos for overall project management
Requirements/skills needed for this position are:
- Be computer literate – familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Office
- Knowledge of Procore Project Management Software a plus
- Knowledge in supervising commercial building construction
- Experience in organizing and supervising subcontractors and their activities
- Must have the ability to maintain a schedule and multi-task, and change focus quickly and easily
- Must be a self-starter who can problem solve without finger pointing and complete tasks with minimal instructions
- Must have the ability to work in a timely fashion and accurately while maintaining tight schedules
- Must exhibit the ability to interface as a team player with all interested parties

- Updates all aspects of the project and document control via ProCore
- Implement assigned duties with an exceptional level of accuracy, timeliness, and cost effectiveness
- Review and process all submittals and RFI’s, ensuring compliance with contract documents and in accordance with project needs
- Reviews plans for conflicts and verifies dimensioning and elevations
- Prepares submittals and samples with the Superintendent
- Writes and distributes correspondence, meeting minutes, procurement requests and all replies
- Attends progress, OAC, MEP, safety, site coordination, and ad hoc meetings
- Maintains, updates, and distributes schedules and information
- Requests replies when RFI is not required
- Verifies deliveries are compliant with submittal, specification, or shop drawings
- Might be required to inventory materials when needed
- Directs logistics for deliveries
- Research procurement of items unsecured at bid date
- Maintains drawing catalog and shop drawing files
- Performs material take-offs and estimating
- Coordination of utilities as directed
- Maintain and save inspection reports to file
- Maintain a complete and current set of drawings reflecting all changes from the base contract documents, including change order request, addenda, field work orders, ASI’s, correspondence and field conditions
