Sigma Contracting

The Salvation Army

“I am impressed with both the quality of workmanship and the professionalism… It has been, to say the least, a refreshing change.”
Ryan White, Divisional Property Coordinator, The Salvation Army

In 1996 Sigma was fortunate to have been selected to work with The Salvation Army on the creation of Camp Ponderosa, a 155 acre wooded camp site located in Heber, Arizona about three hours north east of Phoenix.  This camp provides unique opportunities for inner city children to visit and experience this area and to be exposed to many wonderful programs offered by The Salvation Army.  We continue to build for and help this camp evolve as funding becomes available, and in addition have had the honor to build various other projects for The Salvation Army as well. As our relationship with The Salvation Army has progressed we continue to learn more about the programs they provide for our communities.  Dan Hinkson, president of Sigma, has served in a variety of capacities on several of the advisory boards for The Salvation Army, as has Lindsey Dierks, and they both continue to do so.  Our relationship has grown such that the entire company provides a variety of services and fund raising activities throughout the year to assist The Salvation Army in their program needs.   Events in which Sigma has participated include gathering donated services and supplies to build a medical clinic, the Pack to School children’s program, setting up and assisting to serve dinners at Thanksgiving for 800 needy people, bell ringing  at the Holidays and helping to organize their annual Angel Tree donations for needy children.  Their needs are numerous and Sigma is proud to provide assistance whenever possible.
