Dan Hinkson, President
The founding partner of Sigma Contracting, Dan’s philosophy reflected in Sigma’s culture and approach is a hands-on, owner-involved approach from conception to completion of projects. He knows that this ensures impeccable customer service to each and every client, one of his key missions for Sigma.
His focus is on trying to make the process enjoyable while efficient and productive to ensure client satisfaction. He instills a culture of pride and teamwork, and genuine interest and caring, which has resulted in long term relationships with Sigma employees, subcontractors and clients alike.
Dan started the company in August, 1983. Having worked in construction since the age of 14, Dan pursued construction both in work and education. Dan graduated from Arizona State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering.
Dan has continuously managed the company since its inception and has worked in all areas necessary to build a successful commercial construction company. With over 35 years of construction experience, Dan has worked on projects with a variety of sizes and complexity, giving him great insight into the needs of a project and the expectations of Owners.
Dan is active with The Salvation Army South Mountain, sitting on boards and undertaking various volunteer activities. He encourages active involvement within Sigma for Salvation Army, with active participation in various events for The Salvation Army such as fundraisers, the Back to School program and ringing bells at the Holiday season.
Dan enjoys active family time traveling, camping, skiing, scuba diving, boating, baja race car driving and sky diving.
Jerry Patterson, Vice President
Jerry Patterson, Vice President of Sigma Contracting, serves as Director of Operations, bringing 25 years of diversified construction expertise to the project team. Like Dan, Jerry has worked in construction since his teens, also graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering. Jerry started with Sigma in 1984, soon after its inception, working in various capacities including as project manager and estimator, and became a partner in 1990. As Director of Operations, his primary focus is project scheduling. With his years of experience in estimating and scheduling, Jerry provides the team with creative ways to manage project schedules ensuring timely completion of Sigma’s projects.
Jerry enjoys traveling, motorcycling, quadding and joining Dan in the baja race cars.
